Russia and Ukraine continued to fight fiercely, but the pace of the world situation did not stay on the Eurasian continent. The White House has recently made frequent moves in the Indo-Pacific region, holding ASEAN summits with Southeast Asian countries, visiting Northeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, attending the Quadrilateral Security Talks (QUAD), and vowing at the Naval Academy to lead democracy against totalitarianism. Most observers believe that the "big game" of the United States in the Indo-Pacific is all about declaring a "return" to the region, which means that the United States is ready to re-deploy itself here to confront China.
Regarding Taiwan, in addition to Biden's "misspoken" in Japan to help defend Taiwan, the most important recent Taiwan-US trends are in the photo retouching past two weeks. From Taiwan not included in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEC), to the surprising ups and downs of Taiwan and the United States deciding to launch the " 21st Century Trade Initiative ". But why is it not included in IPEC, and the "21st Century Trade Initiative" alone is a better result for Taiwan? All this has to start with the connotation and problems of IPEC.
The "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework" (IPEF) is an effort made by the Biden administration to rebuild economic and trade relations with countries in the Indo-Pacific region after the United States withdrew from the "Trans-Pacific Partnership" (TPP) in 2017. IPEF has four themes : trade, supply chain, clean energy, decarbonisation and infrastructure, and taxation and anti-corruption.
